Barangay Nagsulang
According to the oldest people in the barangay, Nagsulang before is only a sitio, part of Barangay Lawaan but because of the struggles of the constituents with the wise leadership of their Kapitan Del Barrio, Barangay Nagsulang was formed.The name Nagsulang came from the two rivers, one from Sitio Pamangpangon and the other one from Proper Ilaya, these two rivers are connected to the river at Sitio Agkawayan. So, the name Nagsulang derived from the word, “nagsulangay”.
Nagsulang is one of the upland barangays in the municipality of Dumarao, province of Capiz. It has a total land area of 6.0682 square kilometers.
The barangay has an agricultural area of 411.44 hectares, 67.80% of its total land area. Agricultural produce are palay, corn and sugarcane. Part of their agricultural diversification activities are livestock and backyard native chicken farming.
Geo- physical Hazards
Nagsulang is exposed to 2 types of hazards: rain-induced flooding with low susceptibility level, and rain- induced landslides with low and moderate susceptibility level.
Susceptible to low-level flooding is 35.241 hectares or 5.81% of the total barangay land area.
An area of 43.24 hectares or 7.12% of the total land area has a moderate susceptibility level for rain-induced landslide, while 563.58 hectares or 92.88% have low-level susceptibility.

Household
The household population of Nagsulang in the 2020 Census was 1,380 broken down into 362 households or an average of 3.81 members per households.
Population by age group
According to the 2020 Census, the age group with the highest population in Nagsulang is 10 to 14, with 158 individuals. On the otherhand, the age group with the lowest population is 75 to 79, with 18 individuals.
Combining age groups together, those aged 14 and below, consisting of the young dependent population which include infants/babies, children and young adolescents/teenagers, make up an aggregate of 33.84% (467). Those aged 15 up to 64, roughly, the economically active population and actual or potential members of the work force, constitute a total of 58.84% (812). Finally, old dependent population consisting of the senior citizens, those aged 65 and over, total 7.32% (101) in all.
Historical population
The population of Nagsulang grew from 1,086 in 1990 to 1,380 in 2020, an increase of 294 people over the course of 30 years. The latest census figures in 2020 denote a negative growth rate of 1.31%, or a decrease of 89 people, from the previous population of 1,469 in 2015.
