Barangay Sibariwan
Long ago, Spanish soldiers ventured to the Philippines to spread their religion. As they reached the creek connecting Badbaran River, they encountered a woman bathing her child. They asked her, “What is the name of this place?” The woman, noticing the soldier’s gaze fixed on a plant growing by the creek bank, assumed he was referring to the plant. She promptly replied, “BARIW.” The soldier then clarified, “Is it only one, or ‘BARIW’ one?” The woman echoed, “Si, Si Bariw, One.” From that moment, the place came to be known as Sibariwan, and the community residing there adopted the name SIBARIWAN.
